MRAM Technology
NVE is a leading provider of technology and intellectual property for revolutionary
Magnetoresistive Random Access Memories (MRAM). MRAM has been called "the
ideal memory," potentially combining the density of DRAM with the speed of
SRAM and non-volatility of flash memory or disk. NVEs MRAM licensees have
included Motorola, Inc., Honeywell International, and Cypress Semiconductor
Corporation.
The company also develops and manufactures low-density MRAM for specialized applications such as tamper prevention and detection.
In 2011, we reported that we had begun shipping small quantities of MRAM.

How MRAM Works
Data is written by a small electrical current that creates a magnetic
field, which flips electron spins in a spin-dependent tunnel junction.
Data is read as the resistance of the junction. <More> | | |
