New ABT-Series TMR Gear-Tooth Sensors
NVE has launched a new generation of ABT-Series dual-channel Tunneling Magnetoresistance (TMR) gear-tooth sensors for precise motion, speed, and position sensing.

Large, Low-Distortion Signals
The new sensors provide a remarkable 600 mVp-p/V typical full-bridge output, with excellent linearity and low hysteresis.

Precise Sine and Cosine Outputs
Two phase-shifted differential outputs provide incremental position and direction information. The low-impedance, high-span outputs can connect directly to standard ADC or microcontroller inputs without external signal conditioning.

Common-Mode Field Rejection
Eight phase-shifted TMR elements reject common-mode magnetic fields from external sources, including bias-magnet placement.

Best-in-Class Specifications
  • 600 mVp-p/V typical full-bridge output
  • 1% maximum sensor-element linearity
  • 1% maximum hysteresis
  • Operating frequency to 350 kHz
  • Flexible 0 to 10 V supply range
  • −50 to 150°C operating range
  • Compact MSOP8 and SOIC16 packages

Applications
  • Motion, speed, and position sensing
  • Linear and rotational encoders
  • Closed-loop servo systems
  • Gear-tooth and ferrous-metal detection
