World's
Most Sensitive Off-Axis Rotation Sensor
The new ADT501-10E is an
ultrasensitive, ultralow power, digital-output rotation sensor providing accurate,
absolute rotational quadrant information from a rotating magnet. The new part
works with two-pole and multipole magnets, and works just as well off-axis as
it does on-axis:

Revolutionary Technology
Tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) technology allows the sensor to work with as
little as 0.4 mT magnetic field, allowing small magnets and ridiculoulsly wide
airgaps.
Key features include:
• Precision digital quadrant outputs
• Works with as little as 0.4 mT magnetic field
• Extremely low power (4 µA max at 2.4 V)
• Off-axis sensing capability
• Wide airgap tolerance
• 2.4 V to 5.5 V supply range
• -40°C to +125°C operating range
• 2.5 x 2.5 x 0.8 mm DFN6 package
Simple Interface
The heart of the unique sensor is an array of four Tunneling Magnetoresistance
(TMR) elements, one for each quadrant:
The binary outputs correspond to the sine and cosine of the rotation, as shown
in the truth table:

Breakout Board
The 0.8 x 0.4 inch (21 x
10 mm) ADT501-10E-EVB01
breakout board has a pre-soldered sensor, a standard 0.1-inch (2.54 mm) header,
and a 1 mm pitch card-edge connector.
A Full Product Line
Here's a summary of
our unique line of rotation sensors:
Demonstration Board
The SHIELD02 is a new demonstration
and development board for a broad range of NVE TMR angle and rotation sensors.
The printed circuit assembly is in the form of an Arduino shield.
The Shield board is compatible with all 13 of NVE's TMR angle and rotational sensor
breakout boards. Sixty RGB LEDs indicate the angle, and colors indicate direction
of rotation.
Demonstration Video
This video shows the extraordinary sensitivity and remarkable positional flexibility
of the new sensor using a breakout board and demonstration board:
