The World’s Smallest 2500 V Isolators

V-1 Series isolators are the world’s smallest 2500-volt isolators. The MSOP8 package is just three millimeters square—less than an eighth of an inch.

To demonstrate, a creepy doll represents a person, and a resistor represents human tissue. We show that the isolators withstand 2500 volts for one minute:

Key V-1 Series features include:
  • Full 2500 Vrms isolation
  • 110 mbps
  • 100 ps pulse jitter
  • 44000 year barrier life
  • VDE 0884-17:2021-10 and UL 1577 approvals

35 Years of Leadership

NVE is celebrating 35 years of spintronics leadership this month. The company was founded as Nonvolatile Electronics, Inc. in March 1989.

Some of our industry firsts include:
  •  the first commercial Giant Magnetoresistance sensor in 1994,
  •  the world’s first solid-state isolators in 2000,
  •  the first commercial TMR sensors in 2009,
  •  the first TMR smart magnetometers in 2018
  •  the first TMR smart angle sensors in 2019,
  •  the most sensitive magnetometer IC in 2022,
  •  the world’s smallest DC-to-DC convertors in 2023, and
  •  the world’s highest isolation voltage isolators in 2024.
