NEW! 5 kV Isolators
Award-winning IsoLoop® IL700/ IL200-Series Isolators and IL3000-Series isolated transceivers are now available in 5 kVrms isolation “V-Series” versions with best-in-class high-voltage performance.

5kV Isolators

V-Series Isolators are 100% tested to a jolt-worthy 6 kVrms (8.5 kVpeak), and to a best-in-class 1000 Vrms Working Voltage per VDE 0884-10.

All IsoLoop Isolators feature a revolutionary ceramic/polymer composite isolation barrier provides a remarkable 44000 year extrapolated life and barrier resistance of more than 1014 ohms.
V-Series specifications include:
  • 5 kVrms isolation (1 minute) per UL 1577
  • 1000 Working Voltage (line voltage) per VDE 0884-10
  • -40°C to +125°C operating temperature
  • >1014 ohm barrier resistance
  • Wide-body packages with True 8 mm creepage
Applications include:
  • Medical instruments
  • Smart-grid interfaces
  • Motor drives
  • Power supplies

A number of V-Series part types are in stock for immediate delivery, with more being added.

Isolating SPI With V-Series Isolators
Isolating Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) busses eliminates ground loops between analog and digital sections and improves resolution by reducing noise.

With their high isolation voltage, high speed, and high transient immunity (see story above), NVE’s new IL700V-Series isolators are ideal.

Here’s an illustration of a single-channel isolated delta-sigma with 5 kV isolation and up to 1000 volts Working Voltage (line voltage):
