Worlds Smallest
Isolated Bus Transceivers |

Award-winning IsoLoop®
isolated Controller Area Network and RS-485 bus transceivers are now available
in unique QSOP16 versions.
Designated with a -1E suffix, the QSOP isolated Controller Area Network
transceiver is model IL41050TA-1E and the QSOP isolated RS-485 transceiver is
model IL3085-1E.
Worlds Smallest
The new parts are the worlds smallest isolated bus transceivers, one-fourth
the size of other isolators.
Exceptional Specifications
Both transceivers feature exceptional specifications for performance and reliability.
IL41050TA isolated CAN transceivers feature 1 Mbps data rate, 180 nanoseconds
typical loop delay, and just 12 milliamps quiescent supply current (recessive).
The transceivers have a -40 to +125 degree Celsius temperature range and
a Charged Device Model (CDM) ESD rating of plus or minus 500 volts.
IL3085 isolated RS-485 transceivers meet or exceed ANSI RS-485 and ISO 8482:1987(E)
industry standards. They operate at up to 4 Mbps data rate and have just
3 milliamp typical controller-side quiescent current. IL3085 transceivers
have a -40 to +85 degree Celsius temperature range, 15 kV bus ESD protection,
and current limiting and thermal shutdown features.
Unlike optocouplers or other isolation technologies, all IsoLoop isolators have
indefinite life at high voltage.
Agency Compliance
Both new QSOP bus transceivers are rated at 600 working volts under IEC 60747-5-5
(VDE 0884), and full 2500 volts isolation voltage under UL 1577.
Available Now
Both new parts are in
stock for immediate delivery.
Evaluation Boards
Evaluation boards are available for both new QSOP transceivers. Both boards provide
isolated network nodes with reference design practices. The boards include termination
resistors and screw terminals for easy connections. The IL3085-1 board also includes
an RJ45 RS-485 bus.

IsoLoop Isolators
in Europa Clipper Design
NVE
has been notified that NASA identified three
IsoLoop Isolators for inclusion in circuitry of the Europa Clipper.
The Europa Clipper mission is a recently approved venture to a moon of Jupiter.
Europa is suspected of a having a liquid water ocean and has one of the highest
probabilities of extraterrestrial life in the Solar System. The mission will investigate
whether Europa has conditions suitable for life. The proposed launch is in 2025
and it could take six years for the spacecraft to reach Europa.
Environmental and quality requirements for the mission are extremely stringent,
and IsoLoop Isolators have unmatched reliability including an extraordinary 44000-year
extrapolated barrier life. NVE components are proven in some of the worlds
most demanding applications, including military, aerospace, and life-sustaining
medical devices.
Europa Clipper parts will undergo special screening, but the Isolators will be
the same ones you can buy for your own important mission.
