Welcome to NVE Corporation's YouTube channel.
We're demonstrating our new ultrasensitive

00:00:15.320 --> 00:00:21.200
evaluation board with an Adafruit Trinket
and a simple Arduino program. We can detect

00:00:21.200 --> 00:00:28.040
small ferrite magnets from several inches away,
small neodymium magnets from half a foot away,

00:00:28.040 --> 00:00:34.480
and large neodymium magnets from two feet away.
The board can also detect the magnetic field

00:00:34.480 --> 00:00:39.280
generated by current conductors.
Here the current in amps is displayed on the Fluke multimeter.

00:00:39.280 --> 00:00:49.360
This evaluation
board is so sensitive it can

00:00:49.360 --> 00:00:51.960
detect its own orientation in the Earth's magnetic field.

00:00:51.960 --> 00:00:58.960
Let's get more precise about the
eval board sensitivity.

00:00:58.960 --> 00:01:04.160
The Adafruit Trinket's ATTiny85 microcontroller
is limited to only 10-bit resolution,

00:01:04.160 --> 00:01:10.520
which is enough for simple switching applications.
When more precision is needed, we can increase

00:01:10.520 --> 00:01:15.760
the ADC resolution. We'll use our nanovolt
meter for this demonstration. We're powering

00:01:15.760 --> 00:01:20.760
the evaluation board with a AAA battery--
only 1.5 volts. The noise level is

00:01:20.760 --> 00:01:26.880
around 300 microvolts peak-to-peak.
This can be reduced further using twisted wires.

00:01:26.880 --> 00:01:31.560
With the increased resolution, we can detect the small
ferrite magnets switching polarity up to eight inches away.

00:01:31.560 --> 00:01:39.440
The small neodymium magnet
can be detected around 15 inches away.

00:01:39.440 --> 00:01:48.560
And the large neodymium magnet can
be detected well over three feet away.

00:01:48.560 --> 00:01:54.800

Adafruit Trinket interface. Key features for
