NVE Introduces CAN FD Isolated Transceivers
New family includes the worlds smallest isolated CAN transceiver
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn.August 19, 2019NVE Corporation today introduced
a family of Controller Area Network (CAN) Flexible Data rate (FD)
transceivers. CAN transceivers are popular in factory automation, battery management
systems, and automotive applications.
Worlds Smallest
Like all of NVEs isolated transceivers, the new CAN FD transceivers are available
in NVEs unique QSOP16 package, which is the worlds smallest isolated
transceiver, as well as narrow and wide SOIC16s. The wide-body SOIC is JEDEC-compliant,
but unlike other wide SOICs it has true 8 mm creepage.
A Better Barrier
NVEs unique polymer/ceramic composite barrier provides best-in-class barrier
resistance and virtually unlimited barrier life.
Faster
CAN FD has up to five times the data rate and eight times the data payload
of standard CAN.
Superior Specifications
The new IL41050TFD CAN FD transceivers feature exceptional specifications
for performance and reliability, including five megabits per second data
rate, 136 nanoseconds typical loop delay, just five milliamps quiescent
supply current (recessive), and -40 to 125 degree Celsius temperature range.
Key IL41050TFD-Series features include:
Fully CAN FD compliant
2.5 kilovolt isolation
44000 year barrier life
QSOP16 version is the worlds smallest
Wide-body version with True 8 millimeter creepage
Available Now
All three new parts, along with our legacy CAN transceivers, are in stock for
immediate delivery: Parts are priced at $2.33 each in 1000-piece quantities.

Leaders in Practical Spintronics
NVE is a leader in the practical commercialization of spintronics, a nanotechnology
that relies on electron spin rather than electron charge to acquire, store and
transmit information. The company manufactures high-performance spintronic products
including sensors and couplers that are used to acquire and transmit data.
