NVE Introduces Isolated Current Sensor
AAV004-02E packs best-in-class performance in SOIC8 package
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn.July 2, 2014NVE Corporation (Nasdaq: NVEC) today
announced the introduction of the new AAV004-02E Isolated Current Sensor.
Combining NVEs award-winning sensor and isolator technologies, the new
AAV004-02E Isolated Current Sensor packs best-in-class performance in a small
eight-pin SOIC package:
-5 amp to +5 amp input range
Zero to five volt linear output
Total error less than 0.5 percent
AC or DC
Temperature compensated from -25 to +85 degrees Celsius
300 working voltage (line voltage) rating per the VDE 0884-10
safety standard
The AAV004-02E combines a linear bipolar giant magnetoresistance (GMR) bridge
sensor with on-chip signal processing to amplify, normalize, and temperature compensate
the output.
Current is fed into a current strap on one side of the package, and sensed by
a GMR bridge sensor array close to the strap. The output is a rail-to-rail analog
voltage proportional to the input current and ratiometric with the supply. An
on-chip EEPROM stores factory calibration data.
Isolation is provided by NVEs unique ceramic/polymer composite barrier
with an estimated life of a remarkable 44000 years.
Datasheets and samples are available now.
NVE is a leader in the practical commercialization of spintronics, a nanotechnology
that relies on electron spin rather than electron charge to acquire, store and
transmit information. The company manufactures high-performance spintronic products
including sensors and couplers that are used to acquire and transmit data. NVE
has also licensed its spintronic magnetoresistive random access memory technology,
commonly known as MRAM.
