NVE's Major Technology Licensees
Technology Licensees
Avago Technologies, Inc.
Avago Technologies, the former Agilent Semiconductor Product Group, is one
of the world's leading suppliers of solid-state couplers. We signed an agreement
with Agilent in 2001 where Agilent paid for limited rights to certain aspects
of our coupler technology. Agilent introduced products using our technology
in 2002. A September 2007 amendment extended our agreement with Avago through
June 2009.
Cypress Semiconductor Corporation
Cypress is a leading supplier of Static Random Access Memory (SRAM). We signed
an agreement with Cypress in 2002 where each party gained rights to the other
partys MRAM intellectual property. Cypress also invested in NVE. In
January 2005 Cypress said that it had demonstrated MRAM samples working in
customers systems. In April 2005 Cypress notified us of plans to sell
the assets of its MRAM subsidiary.
Honeywell International Inc.
We have agreements and amendments to agreements with Honeywell dating back
approximately to our founding. Under these agreements we have not paid royalties
to Honeywell for the use of their intellectual property, and Honeywell has
intellectual property rights to certain of our earlier-developed MRAM technology.
Motorola, Inc.
In 2001 we granted Motorola a non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-assignable
license to our MRAM intellectual property and received advance payments in
conjunction with the agreement. Motorola later separated Freescale, and we
declined to consent to Motorolas assignment of the license to Freescale.
In 2006 Freescale announced their commercial MRAM device was in volume production.
We notified Freescale that we belived its MRAM came within the scope of claims
in a number of NVE patents.
Statements in this document that relate to future
plans, events, financial results or performance are forward-looking statements
that are subject to certain risks and uncertainties including, among others,
such factors as uncertainties relating to MRAM production by our licensees,
risks relating to making commercially viable MRAMs, risks in securing new
license agreements, risks in the enforcement of our patents, as well as the
risk factors listed from time to time in our filings with the SEC, including
our Annual Report on Form 10-K. The company undertakes no obligation to update
information contained on this site.
